Resident Reminder! Don’t forget to check the website: www.Worthingtonhills.org for the latest postings of events and information. Thank You! Well, we all have power and definitely appreciate it a little more than we used to. Most of the damage has been repaired and downed trees cleared. There are a few residents that may still need help with removing or hauling debris. Please extend a hand to our elderly neighbors that may be living on fixed incomes or have limited physical abilities to deal with the heavy work. The Board of the Civic Association would like to thank all residents for their patience and assistance during this freak storm and it’s aftermath. It was great to see The Hills spirit flourish as neighbors helped neighbors clean up! We’d also like to thank Michelle @ AEP. While the news she gave us wasn’t always what we wanted to hear she did a great job at keeping us informed of their progress and jumped on issues when she had the ability to do so. At this point we’ve all started forgetting the inconvenience and begun to retell our “hurricane” stories. Some of us are wondering if The Hills is going to experience a “baby boom” in June 2009! Beggars Night Trick or Treating will be Friday, October 31st from 6-8 PM in The Hills. Please make sure to watch for little ones if you’re driving that evening. Residents not wishing to have trick or treaters should turn off their porch lights. Babysitting Class – November 1st. Check under News and Events on the website for registration information. Flu Shot Clinic – November 1st. Free to residents with Medicare (bring your Medicare card) $25 to all residents. Over 80 people attended last year so call the Club at 885-9516 to let them know you’d like to come. More info is on the website under News and Events/Flu Shots. Walk the Circle and 2008 Food Drive - November 9th 4-5 pm What a great way to get to know your new neighbors or reconnect with old ones before the weather gets too cold. Walk the Circle is a family event to promote community and encourage residents to visit and get to know one another. We’ll also use this event to kick off our 2008 Food Drive. Just hop on Clubview and “walk the Circle” ! As you go by the driveway entrance to The Club there will be boxes for you to deposit your food donations. This year’s food collection will go to the St. Michael’s Food Pantry in Worthington and The Open Shelter. So come on out and Walk the Circle. Instead of those weights you carry(?) bring along a couple of cans of food! Boxes will also be at the following locations from November 9th – December 19th for your donations: Worthington Hills Elementary School Worthington Hills Country Club The Hills Market Home Source Interiors Worthington Hills Cleaners Urban Coffee Community Blood Drive Sponsored by Worthington Hills Country Club & Worthington Hills Civic Association Monday, November 17th At WHCC 1:00 to 7:00 pm There will be a bus in the parking lot.
